Welcome to our new website.

For our first post on our new website we thought we'd take the opportunity to give a little bit of background and history of Elizabeth Bay Cellars.

Elizabeth Bay Cellars started two doors down in 1978. It moved to its current location in 1986. Prior to this, the site had been the location of Primo’s Restaurant.

Primo’s had been an institution of the local area and if you ever have the opportunity to pop by to the store in person, please do, so that we may show you the two original Geoffrey Smart paintings on the walls, painted here in the 1950s.

After the move to the current location in 1986, Elizabeth Bay Cellars continued its focus on boutique liquors and upmarket Australian wines. However, the additional space also allowed for a much greater expansion into international wines. Further, the addition of a large wine cellar and temperature controlled fine wine room ensured that our large collection of rare Grange vintages could be well cared for.

Elizabeth Bay Cellars has become a stalwart and icon of the local community; not only for its extensive product range but also for its vivid passion, wealth of industry knowledge and warm service.

In the Loop

Since its inception, Elizabeth Bay Cellars has spearheaded the appreciation of Australian vintage wines and the exploration of international grape varietals with heaps of zeal and zero pretension.

Over the years, Elizabeth Bay Cellars has fostered strong relationships with Australian wine makers and as of 2012 collaborated with many of these winemakers to produce our own range of high quality (and great value) wines.

Although we are located at 76 Elizabeth Bay Rd, Elizabeth Bay, the locals will tell you that we are in fact “in the loop”, referring to the road that loops off the roundabout in Elizabeth Bay. It was this reference that inspired the name of our first range of wine.

All of our labeling is done by Beehive Industries whom we cannot recommend enough! www.beehiveindustries.com.au
